GATEWAY VISITOR CENTRE
Antrim’s popular Lough Shore Park, the gateway to Lough Neagh, is to benefit from a £2.3m investment in a new visitor centre.
Complementing the Council’s five star touring caravan park, nearby Antrim Castle Gardens and Antrim Forum, the plans for Lough Shore Park will ensure it remains a popular destination for residents and visitors.
The new centre will feature a dining area on the first floor with stunning views of picturesque Lough Neagh. Downstairs, a flexible space will cater for a variety of activities and events. Lough Neagh rescue, a vital resource for the whole of the Lough, will also find a new home in the Gateway Centre.
It’s not just the building that’s new, many of our young people in the Borough took part in a consultation to help design an exciting new play area. Other attractions in the Park may include a new bandstand and public art. It is expected the play area will be open next summer with the new centre opening in 2018.
