- Is there a minimum age to use the Fitness Suite?
The minimum age is 16.
- Do I need to take an induction?
All new members are required to complete an induction to be able to use the facilities within the fitness suite.
- What does the induction involve?
This is an instructional session taken by one of the fitness instructors. It will provide you with guidance on how to set up and use the equipment. As a new member you can discuss your training requirements and request a specific training programme to be developed to help you achieve your goals.
- How do I book an induction?

- Are there any changing facilities in the Fitness Suite?
Male and female changing and showering facilities are available, including lockers operated by a £1 coin, which is returned at the end of your session.
- How long is the minimum contract period?
None of our Direct Debit memberships have a minimum period. We only ask that you process at least one direct debit through your account. If you have taken out a cash upfront membership please note that we are unable to refund any portion remaining. We would hope that your membership would be a long one and are always happy to listen to any concerns that you might have and do our very best to deal with them for you.
- How do I cancel my membership?
If you wish to cancel your membership, you must provide written confirmation. It is necessary to contact the Membership Advisor in order to complete the cancellation process and also to establish when exactly your membership will expire. You will also be advised to cancel your debit directly with your bank. If you have taken out a cash upfront membership please note that we are unable to refund any portion remaining.

- 10. How Can I Pay?
There are several payment options available including cash upfront, monthly direct debits and pay-as-you-go. Please see above for details of our memberships.
- How does the Direct Debit guarantee work?
This guarantee is offered by all Banks and Building Societies that take part in the Direct Debit Scheme. The efficiency and security of the Scheme is monitored and protected by your own Bank or Building Society.
If the amount to be paid or the payment dates change, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council will notify you three working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed.
If an error is made by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council or your Bank or Building Society, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your branch of the amount paid.
You can cancel a direct debit at any time by writing to your Bank or Building Society. Please also send a copy of your letter to Ballyearl Leisure Centre.
- When does the direct debit come out of my bank account?
The direct debit is collected on the first of each month, unless that date is on a weekend or a public holiday, in which case it will be the next working day.
