The Lonesome Ace Stringband
Start Date: 30 January 2019
End Date: 30 January 2019
Venue: The Old Courthouse
Masters of their trade, The Lonesome Ace Stringband bring grit, skill and abandon to old-time, Appalachian folk music. Musicians Chris Coole (banjo), John Showman (fiddle) and Max Heineman (bass) bring energy, passion and a refreshing vibrancy to their brand of American roots music - this is old time music for today's old soul.
The music comes from a tradition that has inspired and brought together generations of people. The themes - love, loss, hard work and hardship, faith and everyday life - speak to everyone. Their latest album, When The Sun Comes Up, their third studio recording, comprises mostly original compositions and focuses on the group's predilection for the spiritual and redemptive side of music, where characters come to life in song to confront mortality, impossible choices, and the relentless pressures of change.
