Overview of PEACE IV Programme

Preparations for the Antrim and Newtownabbey PEACE IV Local Action Plan began in early 2016 with extensive consultations. The PEACE IV Partnership was established in Summer 2016 and the Partnership approved the PEACE IV Local Action Plan prior to submission to SEUPB in September 2016 which focus on the three key themes:

  • Children and Young People
  • Shared Space and Services
  • Building Positive Relations

Following an extensive application, assessment and clarification process, a letter of offer was received from the SEUPB in August 2017 for £3.2million to support delivery of the Antrim and Newtownabbey PEACE IV Local Action Plan under Strategic Objective 4 - Building Positive Relations.

A range of projects are being delivered by the Council's Leisure Services Section, Capital Projects Section and Community Planning Department. Other projects are part of a tender process and will be carried out by appointed Delivery Agents.
