Mayor Hosts Reception In Honour Of Local Man Trevor Lorimer

Trevor Lorimer Mayoral Reception - Mayor, Family & Representatives.


Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Thomas Hogg, recently hosted a reception at Mossley Mill for the Irish Hockey Team, Mossley Hockey Club representatives and the Lorimer family.  The reception followed a memorial event held at Mossley Hockey Club in honour of local hockey man, Trevor Lorimer.

Welcoming everyone on the evening, the Mayor said; 

“Today’s event is a truly fitting tribute to the life and dedication of Trevor Lorimer, who was a towering figure not only at Mossley Hockey Club but also within Ulster and Irish hockey circles. 

Cllr Hogg continued; “We are extremely honored to have the Irish Senior Men’s Team with us this evening and are privileged that they selected this memorial event as part of their Irish Training Camp ahead of their qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games. We wish the team every success with qualification and will be watching with great interest.”

The Trevor Lorimer Memorial event featured a number of matches throughout the day climaxing in the game between Mossley Senior Team and the Irish Senior Men’s team who won 1:0.
