The Mayor and Deputy Mayor, Councillors Thomas Hogg and John Blair, teamed up with local children to launch the upcoming Brighter Nights programme.
This year’s programme of events, kicks off on in Lilian Bland Community Park on Friday 26 June with the School’s Out theme marking the beginning of summer! A different theme each week will deliver an evening of free entertainment for all the family, celebrating all that is great about summer. From arts and crafts, to music and various fun and games, there will be something for everyone!
Speaking at the launch of this year’s Brighter Nights, the Mayor, Councillor Thomas Hogg said: “Now in its fourth year, Brighter Nights is a popular programme that attracts more and more people each summer to Lilian Bland Community Park. The weekly programme of free fun is a great way to involve the whole family and this year’s themes will reflect events such as the Tall Ships and the British Open. Be sure to check out the family fun each week and make Brighter Nights part of your summer!”
