Digital Day at Dunanney Centre

01 May 2015

Rathcoole Neighbourhood Renewal Social Sub Group will hold a digital day for older people in the Dunanney Centre from 10am-12 noon on Wednesday 6 May.  The session aims to help older people become confident using technology.   An instructor will be available with a step by step guide on how to use laptops, tablets and mobile phones.

Sara Barkley, Rathcoole Neighbourhood Renewal Co-ordinator comments;

“Local business, Coole Techniques, will host the interactive session which will show participants how to set up an email address, learn to use Skype and make a call on Facetime.  Using this technology will help older people have conversations with family members who live far away and link up with church services, which may be particularly useful for people who are isolated at home or are sick.  It is hoped that further work can be done in partnership with local churches to live stream the Sunday Services.”

A DVD will be also be available for anyone who cannot attend the session.

To attend the Digital Day or to get a DVD please contact Sara Barkley 028 9034 0197 or Joyce Campbell 028 9086 1166.
