The festive season was in full swing at Antrim Lough Shore Park last Thursday for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s Christmas Winter Wonderland.

The rain didn’t dampen the spirits of those who had turned out to see Santa, who, due to the heavy rain, had a last minute change of transport and arrived to the Lough by train instead of boat.

There was something for all the family to enjoy as Cool FM kept the crowds entertained. As well as visiting Santa in his grotto, children were entertained with the Christmas puppet show and princess characters as well as enjoying some arts and crafts and a festive train ride. Clementsmount Fun Farm impressed the crowds with their animal display and mobile playground. .

Deputy Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor John Blair commented; “I was delighted to visit this magical Winter Wonderland. It was great to see so many people turn out to support the event in such wet weather.  We hope Santa will make a return to the Lough next Christmas!”
