Antrim town was in full bloom last weekend when Britain in Bloom judges visited to assess the town for the RHS 2015 UK Finals.
The judges were welcomed to the Borough by the Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Thomas Hogg, then embarked upon a two hour tour of the town. Judging was based upon three criteria; horticultural environment, community participation and environmental responsibility.
Speaking about the judging, the Mayor commented;
“It was a pleasure to welcome the ‘Britain in Bloom’ judges to Antrim and showcase what our wonderful town has to offer. To be a finalist in such a prestigious UK wide competition is a huge achievement and I’d like to congratulate all those involved and the huge efforts that have been made to get this far.”
Results will be announced in October in Sheffield.
