Silver Gilt Certificate awarded at the RHS Britain in Bloom Awards

Antrim Town was the winner of a Silver Gilt Award at the prestigious RHS Britain in Bloom awards in Sheffield on Friday night.

As a first time finalist, the judges visited Antrim town in August and were impressed by the area highlighting many of the community engagement projects, the beautiful Antrim Castle Gardens and work that had been done in the town over the last few years.

Deputy Mayor, Cllr John Blair attended at the awards said; “To win such a prestigious UK wide competition is a huge achievement for Antrim Town and recognition of all the hard work that has gone in to making it a better place to live. I’d like to congratulate all those involved and the huge efforts that have been made in winning this award.”

Judging was based upon three criteria; horticultural environment, community participation and environmental responsibility.
