Another Award For Antrim Town Improvement Scheme
17 June 2015
The Award was presented to Antrim and Newtownabbey Mayor, Councillor Thomas Hogg by Philip Charles, Operations Director CEEQUAL.
Antrim town centre’s Environmental Improvement Scheme has achieved a CEEQUAL Award for sustainability. CEEQUAL Awards are gained by civil engineering projects and contracts that have been assessed against detailed and specific environmental and social criteria by a CEEQUAL-trained Assessor and then verified by a CEEQUAL-appointed Verifier. The Award was presented to Antrim and Newtownabbey Mayor, Councillor Thomas Hogg by Philip Charles, Operations Director CEEQUAL.
Councillor Hogg said ‘I’m delighted to accept this award on behalf of the Council team responsible for the delivery of the Environmental Improvement Scheme in Antrim town. The award acknowledges the high standard of the physical improvements undertaken in the town. These will be a key driver in improving the economic life of the town by helping sustain and develop local businesses. The creation of a more attractive and pedestrian-friendly environment should support more visitor numbers and encourage people to stay longer.’
