Weather Update - Facility Closures

19 September 2018

Due to the amber weather warning in place, we have been reviewing Parks and Facilities across the Borough. Below is a current update:

PARKS

Antrim Castle Gardens and Clotworthy House, Hazelbank Park and Threemilewater Park have been closed.

Antrim Loughshore Park including the Caravan Park and Cafe is closed.

 

FACILITIES

Allen Park Golf Course is closed.

Antrim Forum Play Park Car Park is closed as a precautionary measure. The main car park remains open.

Ballyearl Leisure Centre is closed  - Ballyearl Leisure Centre has now reopened

Crumlin Leisure Centre is currently under review - Crumlin Leisure Centre is open

Sentry Hill has also been closed due to a power cut.

Ballyclare toilets are under review due to reports of damage to roof - Following assessment, Ballyclare toilets are open

Following review all recycling centres have reopened and will stay open until 8pm as normal. There is a power outage in the Randalstown area and Craigmore Recycling Centre has no power.  While the Centre is currently operating as normal if the power supply is not connected, the Centre will have to close when it gets too dark to operate safely (approx. 7pm).

 Antrim Civic Centre phone lines and power is now back on and registration is now open.

Central Services Depot has no power and is therefore closed

Following assessment, all pitches will be open this evening.

Both Jordanstown and Antrim Lough Shore Caravan Parks are closed

ALL Play Parks are now closed

 

RECYCLING

Bryson triplestack collection in the Newtownabbey area has been suspended for the rest of today.

We are reviewing all other refuse collections 

The black and brown bin collections in Newtownabbey and the brown bin collections in Antrim will be completed as normal where roads are passable.

 

ROADS

Randalstown Road, Lough Road, Belfast Road and Loughamore Road are all closed.

 

POWERCUTS
