Things Connected NI Programme
16 May 2018
Things Connected Northern Ireland’, a local public sector consortium (led by Ulster University and including local Councils, Invest NI and Tourism NI), has partnered with the technical innovation accelerator Digital Catapult to bring an internet of things (IoT) network to Northern Ireland.
This aims to help tackle the barriers to technology by providing an LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) network that is free to use and available to IoT entrepreneurs to prototype, test and scale up IoT ideas (see registration below). It is intended that access to this network will encourage the deployment of sensors, applications and services and enable businesses to develop exciting and novel IoT products and services.
‘Things Connected NI’ seeks to build on the region’s growing strengths in the digital sector, to encourage businesses and researchers to discover new ways of solving challenges using digital technology, IoT, artificial intelligence and machine learning, immersive and creative technologies.
