New Mayor for Antrim and Newtownabbey

On Monday 4 June 2018, at Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s Annual Meeting, Councillor Paul Michael from the Ulster Unionist Party was elected as the new Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey. Councillor Michael will be the First Citizen of the Borough for the 2018/2019 term and represents the Airport DEA.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Paul Michael commented “I am delighted to be elected as Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey and look forward to meeting all of the Borough’s residents, schools, local community and voluntary groups throughout the year ahead.”
During the meeting, Alderman John Smyth was also elected as Deputy Mayor for the Borough. Alderman Smyth represents the Antrim DEA and is from the Democratic Unionist Party
