Brexit Breakfast Workshop
26 October 2018
Local businesses are invited to attend a free Brexit breakfast workshop, co-hosted by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council and Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, on Wednesday 28 November in Mossley Mill, from 8.30am to 10.00am.
The workshop will be delivered by InterTradeIreland and Grant Gilmore will take businesses through the issues, challenges and opportunities presented by Brexit, with the 29 March 2019 deadline getting closer all the time.
The UK decision to exit the EU will have a direct and profound impact on business. Whilst there is still much uncertainty, there is still plenty that businesses can be doing to identify their areas of risk and opportunity post-Brexit. Planning can begin with basic questions around the freedom of movement of goods, services, people and how that impacts a business.
- What might the impact be if tariffs or non-tariff barriers are introduced?
- What is the potential tariff that could be levied on my products?
- Do I know what rules of origin certificates are and what they cost?
Grant will discuss how businesses can acquire ‘Brexit Start to Plan’ vouchers* worth £2,000 (100% funded) to access 1-1 professional advice which is tailored specifically to your business or to attend a training course to help your business deal with the changes Brexit may bring, so the event is certain to be popular!
Businesses located in either Council area can attend, but it is essential that interested parties register at https://intertradeireland.com/events/ or by contacting InterTradeIreland at 028 3083 4130.
A follow up event will be held in Mid and East Antrim Borough Council area in the New Year and businesses from both co-hosting areas are eligible to attend. Further details will be advertised on the websites of both Councils.
