Mayor puts on reception for local girl Nicole who’s boxing her way to the top

Nicole Clyde has been boxing since the age of 10. Her roots are firmly placed in Antrim as a member of Antrim Boxing Club and a pupil of Parkhall Integrated College. She was not only one of the youngest competitors in the “All Ireland” boxing title at 50 kg weight, 14-16 age category but ended up winning the title during March of this year. Since her well-deserved win title Nicole has secured a place on the "All Ireland" squad in addition to her place on the Ulster squad.
Other titles Nicole currently holds are:
Northern Ireland Open Champion
Ulster 9 counties Open Champion
Easler International Champion
Co. Antrim Champion
Irish Junior Champion.
The Mayor, Councillor John Scott, commented “Nicole has achieved so much at such a young age and we wish her all the best for the future”.
Currently on Nicole’s horizon is to compete in the European Championships in June. Her 4 coaches are Eamonn Gillen Snr, Sean Gillen, Eamonn Gillen Jnr, (Antrim Boxing club) and Jimmy Conlon.
