Youth Zone Saturdays Kick Into Action

21 June 2016

Stephen Bartley (Valley Leisure Centre Manager) and Debbie Taylor (Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council), join Ryan Keery and local children to spread the word about this year’s Youth Zone programme.

Youth Zone kicks off this year in Crumlin Leisure Centre on Saturday 9 July.  The Valley Leisure Centre will then host Youth Zone with the activities beginning on Saturday 6 August.  The programme will provide regular Saturday evening action with a packed programme for young people aged 9-18.

Youth Zone provides a great space to hang out with friends and try out a range of different activities each week. Sports will include indoor, 3G and bubble football, table tennis, badminton and hockey. A range of other activities will be on offer such as climbing wall, arts and crafts and circus skills.

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor John Scott, commented, “We are delighted to offer a programme of sport and other activities on Saturday nights for young people across the Borough, which provides an outlet for 9 to 18 year olds to have fun and enjoy their own space.”

Youth Zone will run on Saturday 9, 16, 23 and 30 July in Crumlin Leisure Centre and Saturday 6, 13, 20 and 27 August in the Valley Leisure Centre from 7pm to 10pm. There is a courtesy bus from 10pm to drop off at designated stops. For further information on Youth Zone or the courtesy bus, please phone 028 9034 0000, 028 9446 3113 or email [email protected].

Registration is essential and the registration form can be brought along on the first night. Registration forms can be downloaded from the Council’s website at www.antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/youthzone or by contacting the PCSP team via 028 9034 0000 or 028 9446 3113.
