STAR 3 - Star Businesses Set to Shine Bright!
26 September 2016
The Mayor, Councillor John Scott, launches the Star 3 Programme with Lara Goodall.
Following the success of its previous STAR programmes, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is delighted to launch its third Services, Tourism, and Retail (STAR 3) programme to help local businesses shine and prosper.
STAR 3 will help local businesses to improve sales and marketing, business planning, visual merchandising and customer services skills. It will encourage business owners to review their business and through one-to-one mentoring, provided by highly experienced business consultants, build on their strengths and address any identified weaknesses.
The programme targets businesses across the Borough and will work towards strengthening the village and town centres. Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor John Scott commented: “The Council is committed to supporting our local business community and we are keen to provide practical support to ensure they shine. We want to make sure they have a clear vision for their businesses and an action plan to help them achieve that vision.” He continued “we are offering practical help with mentoring, mystery shopping, visual merchandising, World Host Accreditation and a series of tailored workshops, all delivered by experts. At the end of the programme, our businesses can look forward with greater confidence to grow and expand a boosted skill set and a tailored action plan that will drive the business forward.”
Programme Manager Lara Goodall commented, “STAR 3 is all about making local businesses the best they can be. We want to help businesses excel in customer service, improve communication with existing customers and attract new business. It is a really practical programme that the participants will really enjoy and benefit from.”
