Party in the Park

08 August 2016

The sun shone as thousands flocked to Antrim Castle Gardens for this year’s Party in the Park on Saturday 6 August.  Crowds arrived in their droves finding their perfect spot to picnic or even dance on the lawn to the music of The Gamblers and The Jukebox Jurors, as the children played on the bouncy castles.

The carnival atmosphere continued in the Parterre Gardens as C21 Theatre Company entertained the crowds with their Alice in Wonderland show. Kidz Farm was on board with a Petting Zoo where the little ones could get a cuddle from the rabbits or if they were brave enough, to hold the snake.

Meanwhile on the long pond Jungle NI were kept busy with the Water Zorbes where you literally could come down the river in a bubble. The bubble theme continued as Scientific Sue wowed the crowds with her magic bubble show even putting the Mayor Councillor. John Scott inside one.

Go fly your kite, face painting, and swing boats were all a hit with the crowds and for those just wanting to chill out the beanbag cinema was the ideal location. As the sun shone the food fayre and refreshment areas were inundated keeping the crowds happy.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor John Scott commented “It is fantastic to see so many people here today both young and old alike having a great time. I am delighted that we can offer these events to the people of our Borough and wider afield”
