The Belfast Titans (green tops) congratulate Nick Ryles and Caroline Patterson on winning the amateur Round 4 of the StreetVelodrome Series.
Round 4 of the UK StreetVelodrome Series wheeled its way to Ballyclare last weekend with over 300 people showing off their skills on the StreetVelodrome track. The Ballyclare Festival of Cycling attracted young and old to Sixmile Leisure Centre where they had the chance to learn new bike skills, receive bike safety information from the PSNI, listen to fantastic music and bounce their way to a fun filled weekend on the inflatables.
Despite the poor weather on Sunday 19 June, the televised round of the UK StreetVelodrome Series took place with amateurs and professionals competing against each other for the chance to take part in the SuperFinals at Buckingham Palace.
This event will see the climax of the UK StreetVelodrome Series and the very best amateur riders from around the country will be battling it out to win. The winning amateur cyclists from Northern Ireland who will be competing at the SuperFinals are Nick Ryles and Caroline Patterson. Nick is an employee of Chain Reaction Cycles, based in Doagh and the Council wishes him well for the event in July.
The Council was delighted to have received sponsorship for the festival from Tourism Northern Ireland and Travelwise NI, a Department of Infrastructure Cycling Unit initiative, which seeks to promote sustainable modes of transport including cycling, walking, public transport and car sharing.
