Keep The Kids Active This New Year!

Would you like to keep your child active this New Year? Why not enrol them on one of the kid’s sports programmes taking place at Valley Leisure Centre?

Open to boys and girls from 8-14 years, the programmes take place on a weekly basis and include indoor tennis, dodgeball, sprocket rocket (cycling) and a rugby and homework club.  

Dean Holmes, Sport & Play Development Officer with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council explains more; “Each of these programmes are designed to introduce the fundamental skills required for the sports and link into local clubs within the area. All activities are delivered by fully qualified coaches. So if you are looking to get your child involved in a sport, why not come along to any of these programmes and try it out.”

Programmes take places at the Valley Leisure Centre on the following days and will start week commencing 18 January:


Indoor Tennis                                   Monday, 3.45-4.45pm

Rugby & Homework Club           Thursday, 3.30-5pm

Dodgeball                                       Thursday, 4-5pm

Sprocket Rocket                             Friday, 4-5pm
