Antrim to host Irish Para Badminton Championships

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Thomas Hogg welcomes competitors Chris Stewart and Niall McVeigh to Antrim Forum ahead of the Irish Para Badminton Championships. They are joined by Craig Farrell and David McGill of Badminton Ireland and William Martin, President of Ulster Badminton.
Antrim Forum is set to welcome over 150 athletes from 28 different countries as they travel to take part in the 2016 Irish Para Badminton Championships.
Organised by Badminton Ireland, the five day event will take place from 22-26 June and will form part of the Badminton World Federation Para Circuit.

David McGill, Tournament Director comments; “Badminton Ireland are delighted to once again host the Irish Para-Badminton International. The feedback from last year’s inaugural event was very positive and we look forward to welcoming players from all over the world for the 2016 event in Antrim”.
This is only the second year of the event and host country Ireland hope to continue their successes, having scooped a total of five medals last year.
