Antrim and Newtownabbey Shortlisted for APSE Awards

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has been successfully shortlisted for the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) Awards. The awards recognise frontline services that are delivered to local communities by local councils. There are 21 different categories altogether, with Antrim and Newtownabbey being shortlisted for three including:

  • Best Efficiency and Transformation Initiative
  • Best Community and Neighbourhood Initiative: Valley Park Shared Space Project (V36)
  • Best Service Team: Parks Grounds and Horticultural Service: Antrim Castle Gardens Gardening Team

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor John Scott commented “There were over 320 submissions from over 100 organisations across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland for the awards. This is a fantastic achievement for the Council and recognises all of the hard work, dedication and commitment from our employees in making the Borough a better place and providing a service of excellence. I congratulate all those who contributed and hope that we are successful in the final stages.”
