Antrim’s Halloween Spooktacular!
31 October 2016
Frightful fun was had by one and all at the Halloween Spooktacular organised by Junction One and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. The ghostly goings-on attracted thousands of ghouls, goblins and witches, from throughout Northern Ireland, eager to enjoy the spooky shenanigans.
Sonya Mac from Q Radio kicked off the ghoulish goings-on at 6pm and the crowds were entertained by fire jugglers, the stiltwalking samba band as well as the spooky Halloween Grotto before the night came to an end with a sparkling fireworks extravaganza.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor John Scott, was thrilled with the size of the crowd that turned out. “We are delighted to be celebrating our 12th Halloween Spooktacular, which is jointly organised by Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council and Junction One. Year on year, this event attracts huge numbers into Antrim. Everyone has made such an effort this year with their Halloween costumes making the judging of the Fancy Dress competition extremely difficult. Special thanks must go to all the traders at Junction One and the Council for sponsoring the prizes.”
Watch out for more spooky shenanigans next year!
